My oldest Leica book is Paul Woolf  "My First Ten Years with the Leica". 
Undated, probably mid thirties. Timeless advice: page 15 -- "Stick to one 
type of film until you know it thoroughly." Many of the plates are darn good 
even by today's standards (or is that faint praise?)
