Subject: [Leica] looking for the "most" tonal range

OK, I know medium format or larger will have much larger tonal range than
35mm, but within the confine of 35mm film, I understand that generally B&W
has about 10 stops of range, where as slides has about 5-6 and negatives
have about 7-8.

Questions:
Assuming ISO100 or higher:
- How about the chromogenic B&W? I presume since their structure is more
like color film, they have range similar to color film?
- Among all the chromogenic B&W, which is has the most range and the
smoothest transition? Which one is the "sharpest" if there is are few
choices?
- Same questions with "real" B&W: which has the most range and the
smoothest transition? Which one is the "sharpest" if there are a few
choices? Which developer? Which paper?
