I bought it a month ago and had it CLA'd in Nijmegen, Holland by a true craftsman, Mr. Scherpenborg. On the phone, he told me something about the M4-2 being a "difficult" camera, but didn't specify why. A pretty amazing experience: I went to him, he took it, after 10 seconds he said someone had opened it and tampered with it and 20 seconds later he knew most of what needed to be corrected. It took him 5 hours to completely redo it, and I got a perfect M4-2 back at the end of the day, with (digital) documentation of what was altered and renewed. --- > From: "Giancarlo" <lindaboz@tin.it> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug@leica-users.org> > Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 10:35:10 +0100 > To: "Leica Users Group" <lug@leica-users.org> > Subject: Re: [Leica] Leica M4-2 thread > > Hello, > the first M 4-2 was the sr. n. 1468000. > 153xxxxx was certainly in the latest batches. > Giancarlo > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Gary Klein" <leicaman@lakebreeze.org> > To: "Leica User Group" <lug@leica-users.org> > Sent: Friday, November 19, 2004 10:06 AM > Subject: [Leica] Leica M4-2 thread > > >> Okay M4-2 experts, >> What serial number range would you consider to be early for the M4-2?
