Subject: [Leica] About the Summilux 50mm
From: luisripoll at telefonica.net (Luis Ripoll)

Thank you John, but my question was also concerning optical qualities in
relationship with the Summicron (11800) I actually own, and quality
differences too in between 11114 and 11868.

For my use is not very important one stop more, I think neither ASPH. The
most important for me would be obtain subtle tones and richness in
gradation.

I've never tried a Summilux, and I don't know what it can do

Thanks again
Luis

The E46 focuses to 0.7m which is a good thing and filters are cheaper
and easier to find. I tried out the E46 version and was prepared to buy
one when they announced the Asph.
