Olympus E-1 is definitely competitive at 11 mm (22 > 35 equiv) with the 21 asph. This is probably a case of the microprocessor in the lens 'talking' to the microprocessor in the camera and then the distortions being removed digitally. Just like making up pixels which never existed this stuff really works.
