Hi Jesse,
As I discovered about setting the Digilux 2 in "shoot B&W only" and the
excellent results I'm getting with this mode, I'm more than pleasantly
surprised at the quality. Now to be honest, I need a bunch more exposures
under various locations and light levels before I'm fully convinced I could
go completely digi B&W. But I don't have any doubt that'll happen sometime
down the line. Therefore ..................... exit B&W film.

And I just discovered the excellent available light results of setting the
Digilux 2 "film" sensitivity to 400, then EV underexposing 2 stops making it
1600, now it's even more surprising in the quality of B&W prints at 11.7 X
16.5 size. Now I could be won over to B&W digi as I am in shooting colour.
And making bigger prints with the Epson 2200 printer. Time will tell.

It's a "do it and discover" for oneself that I find so interesting in this
digital field, an exciting adventure to say the least. As I've said before,
"I learn by doing" not reading! But when I do read instructions, I only read
the parts I'm interested in while using the equipment and don't waste time
reading anything if I'll not require it. ERGO: I never read a complete
instruction manual. :-)

The rest comes from the "experience of doing" as one usually learns far more
and faster from their screw-ups and successes than reading about them. I
know it's a strange way, but what the heck it's worked a very long time so I
don't see any reason to change now. :-)

Watch for more nearly .......... "converted to the digital fold!" ;-) Exit
film!

ted
