As for B&H and its security, given that this is a store owned and largely staffed by orthodox Jews in post 9/11 Manhattan, the safety measures are fully understandable to me. If the world was to have only one photo store, my choice would be B&H. Very good staff, best selection of new gear that is available to try & play with on site, excellent used selection (including an always interesting Leica section), prices often much better than most.
