Hi BD:

The 11x14 image circle is approximately 450mm which some say is normal, 
(43mm is about the "real" normal on 35mm) so I'm guessing that 590mm 
might be more or less equivalent to a 60 or 70mm on a 35mm camera.

All of the above is subject to the thoughts/statements of more technical

types than I.
