Subject: [Leica] SF-20 batteries

With the SF-24 you have to touch the shutter release to activate the flash
in TTL mode, similar to activating the meter in the M6/TTL. My Duracell
Lithium batteries seem to last very well with this unit.

The shelf life for the lithiums should be about 10 years.....

Are you sure the batteries are bad? The flash is designed so that in
'TTL' mode, the flash won't powerup until it has a signal from the
camera. Make sure to do your testing in 'A' or 'M' mode.
