I have to disagree with you Nathan. The modern Vespas are great 
scooters, sometimes much better than their Far-eastern counterparts. 
Vespas are more expensive but they are also a pleasure to the eye which 
can't often be said of the competition.

I also think that the Italians and the Germans occupy niche markets 
that the Far-east has been unable or unwiling to fill.

In the interests of full disclosure, I am a bit crazy for Vespas (not 
the P series, thank you), Ducatis and BMWs.
