If you are interested in this kind of stuff, I would also recommend the book
One Man Caravan (I?m reading it now for the second time) by the American
Robert Edison Fulton - he made a round the world trip on a Douglas
motorcycle in 1932. IIRC he passed away last year at the age of almost 100
years.
