Indeed; take a look at the brown Accessories book at all the medical  
photography adapters.  Check out page 80 for a real laugh.  Almost  expect 
to see a 
colonoscopy kit.

serious effort to promote  close-up photography  and its extensive 
production 
of all sorts of  devices for this kind of work. 
Later editions of the Leica  Manual do not appear at first  glance to take 
up medicine as a  separate topic -- bob  cole
