Subject: [Leica] Totally OT question about dentists

Leica made a very early effort to attract -- among others -- dentists and
eye doctors... The 1935 edition of the "Leica Manual" by Morgan & Lester,
has
an entire chapter by a dentist [with close-up photos of teeth] and a
separate
chapter on the Leica as an opthalmic camera [with close-ups of the eye by
Dr.
Ramon Castroviejo, a prominent eye doctor.]
The 1951 Edition continues the effort with a lengthy chapter by an M.D.
on medical photography. I believe that this trend had much to do with
Leica's
serious effort to promote close-up photography and its extensive production
of all sorts of devices for this kind of work.
Later editions of the Leica Manual do not appear at first glance to take
up medicine as a separate topic -- bob cole
