Subject: [Leica] How is life in Boston this week?

I may be dead wrong, and I will admit that my politics are coloring my
view of this, but I think that we will see in NY the utter disaster we
were told incorrectly that we would see in Boston. After all, it only
takes the U.N. opening to totally paralyze NYC traffic, and the security
for that is nothing compared to what we will see at the DNC - and the
Republic Convention is taking place over Penn Station, in the heart of
the west side, NOT smack on the East River.....Will be fun to watch....

I am sort of curious what several hundred thousand people will do when
Penn Station becomes security central. I suppose they could shut down
the tunnels with shuttle buses coming from NJ if train passengers get
off in Newark. That would be a sight.

As an aside, during the Olympics in Atlanta, the same thing occurred
with traffic. For about a month you could go just about anywhere in no
time, the only exception was the trains, sardines have more space than
was available in a train car.

Not at all.
Because the media so successfully convinced people that the sky was
falling, everyone fled town, the city is essentially empty, and there
are no problems what so ever.

Well, okay, I'm sure that if someone IS at work this week, and work is
right around the Fleet Center, it's a pain in the butt. But other than
that, no problem.

What I can't wait to see is what happens to midtown Manhattan when the
RNC hits town and an already hopeless traffic mess is magnified. ;-)

All of my friends in Boston,
The news is all about security shutting down traffic in Boston both auto
and mass transit.

So, how has security affected you?
