Absolutely! 40 was over the hill, and 50 was under it...

That is no lie. I recall as a kid hearing that Ozzie Nelson was 50 years
old. To me, that meant he had one foot in the grave.

Isn't that a scary thought, though? 40th!? Think back to when you were
in high school, and how godawful old you would have thought anyone was
who was wheeled into a 40th reunion...:-) LOL!

Ah, a baby boomer like many of us. For the first time, folks in my high
school graduating class are dying of diseases of the elderly (heart
attacks, cancer). First it was Viet Nam and car accidents (10 year
reunion), the AIDS (20 year reunion), and now heart attacks and
cirrhosis (3 year reunion). I'm afraid to go to my 40 year reunion.
Fortunately, it's still 4 years away.

Oh, I don't know. How old are you? Your kids look pretty youngish. My
hair (and beard) started graying when I was 30. I started getting senior
citizen discounts before I was 40. I finally started wearing my hair
about 1/3" long, so it "seems" less gray.

Isn't it great how easily they could be entertained? My problem is that,
having had beard on and off since college, and pretty much full-time
since 1980, every so often something comes over me and I head into the
bathroom and just whack it off - and then I remember why I grew it!

But what's really depressing about it is that when I was younger, I
thought it made me look more mature - and now having the beard
definitely makes me look younger...which is pretty sad, given how old I
look.....:-O

When my daughter was an infant one of the sure-fire ways to quiet her
was to let her get a fistful of beard. It worked 99.9% of the time. The
other .1% of the time she kept thrashing her arms and I started yelling
too.
