i have some older cameras and lenses with leather cases in some instances
the
movable leather hinges have cracked or split or the stiches have come
undone.

are there places which restore
such things? i don't expect it to be cheap, nor do i insist the repair be
100% "authentic." it's just that some of these cases are very handsome and
it's a shame not to use them.

thanks in advance for any info.

Go find one of those shoe repair shops where there are things piled about,
and they do orthopedic shoe conversions. Those people are usually artists,
and
will love to do this kind of repair.
