Yup... right answer... Does anyone think their R mount lenses on a digital
body will be as good as film? Ditto those that are interested in a M mount
Digital camera.

There is definitely a place for digital. Especially for newspapers or other
journalistic work, those that charge for their work, or those amateurs ( non
paid ) that go sports event or animal shooting. Or maybe for the in between
that get roped into weddings for friends, soccer team photos, etc. Of
course, for family snaps, digital is king and should be. But I do believe
that in the realm of making fine art photos ( those that are inherently
beautiful) there is room for film only. Your Leica glass is so good, that
it is going to be a really long time until there is a digital capture that
is anywhere as good.

The answer they gave is that the filter softens the image, and they want
the images to be as sharp as possible.
