Tina,

Yes, that accords with your pictures.   So it really is as much a matter of
lighting, background, and composition as extremely low light levels that
determines when you use the Noctilux.  I take it that the Martin Lopez
picture, an anomaly, would have been taken with a lens with better bokeh,
the Summilux or Summicron, if there had been two or four times as much light
on him.  The light you use in these Noctilux pictures is very like
Rembrandt's light, the strong light picking out the subject from a dim
background, very dramatic lighting.
