Having said that it is a very good scanner indeed. I do everything in Photoshop after the original scan. My first Canon product. I've always had Nikon and Agfa scanners in the past but a local dealer and good friend said he could get me one at cost so what can you do? That said, it makes great scans of my slides. But after using Nikon and Agfa scanner software and interface that seems to have been designed by real photographers instead of computer geeks. I spent a lot of time messing with the settings and loading up custom profiles but in hindsight I'd have been better off with Vuescan. I have a copy on my linux machine with my old coolscan and it works great. I'l have a look at the default profile I've set up and forward it to you. Do you scan most slides or negs?
