Yes, Daniel.  That was my entire point:  I was not going to be drafted, as
my draft board never got below number 12 as they credited voluntary
enlistments against their draft quota, a policy left to the discretion of
the local board.  So I had a couple of days of Great Moral Quandry before I
volunteered.
