Subject: [Leica] What would a new M cost in 1964?

$438 in 1967 was $2336 in 2002!

So that means that the outfit is today worth a bit less than 50% of it's
purchase price - which is admittedly pretty good for a 37-year-old
camera. On the other hand, it hardly indicates that the equipment either
"maintains its value," or is anything other than a pig of an
"investment."

>From the June 1, 1967 E. Leitz retail price list:

M3 chrome $288.00
50mm f2 Summicron chrome $171.00

Purchased together, $438.00 (save $21!)

(same prices for an M4)

35mm Summicron f2, $198.
