Darth Vader: Remember the dark slide. How much is the digiback? $10K? Or $20? What a solution... ;-) Len -- -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+ljkapner=cox.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+ljkapner=cox.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of B. D. Take the film back off, put the digi back on. Take the digiback off, put the film back on. ;-) -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Leonard J Kapner Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2004 11:46 AM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: RE: [Leica] Digi-system camera was THE FUN PART! :-) Whoa, what a good idea! A minimalist approach... Think anyone would buy it save ~1,000 M Leicaists? Sharp Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2004 7:50 AM To: Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] Digi-system camera was THE FUN PART! :-) Just an idea, Why not build the digital camera body in a perfectly conventional form, without all the bells buttons and blinking lights, and give us a plug-in LCD as a viewer/pre-edit/storage unit and whatever else doesn't really need to be on the camera for the purpose of taking pictures. Once you've set up any special exposure parameters unplug it and put it in your pocket. - it could even double as a remote control, - stick it in the hot shoe if you have to have it on the camera for tripod work, macro etc. If a manufacturer got around to this way of thinking we might even get cheaper digi-bodies. All the high grade software on a plug-in module for use on any number of cameras - even different brands (no hope!), different LCD sizes, storage capacity, software packages. All the camera needs is a finder, lens, a shutter, sensor (possibly exchangeable for higher resolution) and a hard-disk. This would be the start of a digital system camera ! Douglas _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
