I'm using an older model Leica shoulder stock that allows me to attach a QR plate. The monopod is a Bogen 3218 which I bought because I can operate the leg locks with one hand, parts are readily available, and because my boss was selling it cheap. Very handy that it was the model I would have chosen anyway. For a head I'm using the Bogen 3232 tilt head with a QR clamp. I'm not sure this is strong enough for the 180 f/2 but I find it very usable with lenses as large as the 400mm f/6.8 and fairly usable with the 560mm f/6.8. This setup allows me to fine-focus by leaning forward or back, is very portable, and allows me to use slower shutter speeds with excellent sharpness. BTW Manfrotto = Bogen.
