I don't get it.  Why is it bad that the country recognize that a journalist
risked his life to get information to the population in general?  I assume
the journalists have the option of not going?  Therefore it was done of
their own free will, risk and all.  Recognition of their accomplishments and
losses I would think should be recognized.

Why not give them a medal?  Honestly asked.... no tongue in cheek....
