You wrote "Canon EOS 1v" but I read "Canon EOS 1 Ds" on the camera. The "D" was written below the EOS 1? (I'm at home now, I don't remember the letter ? stood for). It'd got a Kodak back (like the one planned for Leica ... in a way). You can remove the back, stick your grubby fingers all over the sensor (if you want). There's a frameline in the viewfinder showing the smaller taking rectangle for the sensor and the back is connected to the camera by a couple of wires going up in a hole where the take-up spool normally would be. It looks like a real "hack" if you ask me. The room for putting film is still there, but not the takeup spool. This goes gack to 1998, I think. It's hardly ever been used.
