Shades of Al Franken on Saturday Night Live.

But it's not a joke. A photo editor at the Oregonian once told me he
believed that some day a photographer would simply go to an even and
spin in a circle with a camera to get the whole scene, and the editor
back at the office would simply select a photo from the captured scene.

What is remarkable about that statement is that a person could become
an editor at a leading publication who had such a miniscule
understanding of how photojournalism - let alone photography - works.

"...None of the gods love wisdom or desire to become wise, for they are
wise already -- nor if someone else is wise, do they love wisdom.
Neither do the ignorant love wisdom or desire to become wise; for this
is the grievous thing about ignorance, that those who are neither good
nor beautiful nor sensible think they are good enough, and do not
desire that which they do not think they are lacking..." - Plato
