"The final typescript of "On the Road" was produced on a 'sort of'
continuous roll of teletype paper, not toilet paper. The roll may or may
not be continuous as it is known to have been taped together here and
there."

Jack Kerouac was known to have used butcher shop paper. He could type well
over 100 wpm and with his style of "Stream of Consciousness" writing he
could just close his eyes and hammer away, not having to worry about pulling
and resetting page after page. Quite the opposite of Thomas Wolfe who wrote
by hand standing up and dropped each competed page into a good sized trunk
eventually delivering the trunk to his Editor Max Perkins.
