Hi B.D.,
I'm sure by now you've seen the flurry of posts this morning on adapters for
R lenses to Canon digi cams as well as the posted Digi 2 snaps of two
frames. The images look good, but I'm from the old school of show me how
well it works on real subjects and not two guys standing in soft light
without shadows!

But no matter how good they look, if the retail price in the USA is about
$1800-$1900 mark, Canada probably higher!! I find it hard to believe
they'll touch the digi markets of Canon and others. Possibly Leica doesn't
care, as we know the M camera is a niche market item, so maybe the Digilux 2
is seen in similar fashion and that's what they're aiming at. We'll know
when the big announcements appear during the next couple of months.

Quite frankly the digi 2 will have to be a "wonder camera" to beat the Canon
G5 I've been playing with. I realize that's a heretic comment and I maybe
burned in Leica's hell fires, but sometimes the truth hurts!
