[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]TIME CORRESPONDENT AND PHOTOGRAPHER IN STABLE CONDITION AFTER BEING INJURED IN A GRENADE ATTACK IN BAGHDAD Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 New York -- On Wednesday, December 10, TIME senior correspondent Michael Weisskopf and TIME photographer James Nachtwey were injured when a grenade was thrown into the Humvee they were traveling in while accompanying U.S. military personnel in Baghdad, TIME managing editor Jim Kelly has confirmed. The attack took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. Iraq time. The identity of the attacker or attackers is not known. Two soldiers in the Humvee at the same time were also injured.
