I voted for Nixon (1972) and decided never to make that mistake again. However, when Al Gore did as badly as he did against Bush in the debates (if you can call them that), I voted for Bush thinking that he would make less of a fool of himself. I had Reagan as a governer, and he asked (after Kent State) the National Guard to go out and give the college students a "blood bath". That made me less inclined to vote for him as president. Well, I've actually vowed never to vote again. After casting a vote for Nixon and a vote for Bush, I feel that I just cannot be trusted with that much authority. ;-) My mom tells me that Gray Davis is doing a good job of trying to mobilize efforts on the fire situation. I'm glad to see that he's not acting like a lame duck. The problem with California is that the people who get into office are either pathologically right wing or pathlogically left wing. If you are a moderate, you're seen as having no balls. When I was living in California, I generally voted Democratic (I wanted to be identified with people who are stupid instead of mean-spirited)" Jeffery, I wonder where that puts me on the political scale? In 1984 I voted: U.S. Senate Jerry Brown over Pete Wilson Governor Tom Bradley over Deukmajian Prez Reagan over Mondale (?) Actually Reagan was the only Republican I voted for that year...and the only one who won!! And...Mike Royko who gave Brown the name "Moonbeam" later retracted his comment.. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
