No. Dust.  Strips of negatives hanging in the darkroom and then in my 
office until I can get around to mounting and scanning them attract lots of 
dust.  Using PEC cleaner works but often adds scratches of its 
own.  Negatives just naturally attract dust.  It all shows up when the 
negatives are scanned.
