I get these emails very often after bidding on expensive photo items 
(and computer stuff too, especially Mac Powerbooks for some reason). 
This started about 2 months ago - they always want a Western Union 
moneygram. Ask them if they accept Escrow payments, that will shut them 
up!  The charity home angle is a new one for me though ;-)

I just forward them to eBay, they like to know about that kind of 
stuff. I wondered if the ebay ids are legit or not anyway.
