Olympus is definately not behind the times. The new E1 represents the first real new thinking in the high end digital world. I handled one yesterday, and I must admit I was impressed. The form factor is just about right. Quite compact. Lightweight. Battery life is said to be remarkable, at around 3x what I get with my 10D today on a single charge. And it has complete environmental sealing. If the lenses are any good, it will be an interesting tool. I hope Olympus sees fit to produce some fast, high quality primes for it as well. - --Jim Laurel >> - ---------------------------- Jim, I was talking about the body design, which is still digital in form, as is my nifty 5050, and the newer 5060. I prefer the classic film body and its simplicity. OK, I'm conservative in camera preferences. I just hope it will be applied to digitals. Of course, I don't underestimate Olympus. They're a great outfit. Bob - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
