And I have to say I don't see it as a competitor to the DSLRs for any buyers other than M fanatics who don't want interchangeable lens SLRs... It's more of a competitor to the other single lens P&Ss, some of which are certainly sophisticated enough to see 'pro' use, but none of which offer the flexibility of DSLRs. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Sonny Carter Sent: Thursday, October 02, 2003 2:40 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Closest thing to a Digital M announced today! The camera is only M-like in a few features. Seems we take our impressions (get our hopes up) from the subject line. I see it as a direct competitor to d-slr cameras, like Oly, fuji, and some Sony's. Probably the Digilux 2 rather than a Leica DM. This camera is an evolved LC5 with features unavailable on a fixed zoom camera up until now. I still have it a little narrower than an M, but thicker due to the size of the lens.
