Haven't tried them on my 10D yet. It is likely the first 19/2.8 will work ok on the EOS 300D. It is ALSO possible that even the 2nd version will work on the EOS 300D . This is because unlike other EOS models, the EOS 300D allows lenses with longer rear element groups protruding into its mirror box (the supplied 18-55 EF-S lens being an example). I suspect they did this by reducing the size of the mirror, maybe even setting it further back.
