You don't go to Paris to drink beer :-). Seriously, prices _are_ very
expensive especially given the cheap price of beer in supermarkets. I'd say
that 6.50 is at the top end of the range, there are cheaper places if not
_cheap_ places. The best price I used to get was 4.50 for a half litre in a
bar just around the corner from where I lived.

Speaking of bars, there's a bar called the 'Trapist' on the bottom of rue St
Denis near Chatelet that has a _huge_ selection of draught and bottled
beers. Draught Becks was something like 7 Euros a half litre, not cheap but
manageable - and their Toulouse sausages and frites are excellent too on a
cold day.

The food is good, the beer is expensive at a street cafe- 6.5 Euros for a
glass of draft.
