finder. If I could only own one M it would be the .58, because it allows
me to use the 28 without a finder, and gives me more 'air' around the 35
and 50 framelines. And, for some reason, I find it easier to focus than
the .72. But that's why I say this may have more to do with one's vision
than with the finder itself.

John,

Ok, ok. The 1.25 magnifier will mulitply the .58 viewfinder's
magnification to approximately .72. The inherent benefits, clarity,
sharpness, brightness and contrast of the .72 viewfinder may not be
imparted to the .58 viewfinder by the addition of the 1.25 magnifier.
However, the magnification of the .72 as compared to the .58 w/ 1.25
magnification will be approximated. :-)

finder is a magnificent achievement: crystal clear and tack sharp. The
0.58x finder's superimposed image is slightly dim and fuzzy when
compared to an 0.72x. This does not make a difference in everyday use
but critical wide open and close focusing in lowlight is MUCH easier
with an 0.72x. I actually find such critical work impossible with my
0.58x regardless of whether the magnifier is attached or not.
