He spotted a cute kid, framed nicely, and shot - as she seemed to wave him off. It's a nice shot - but "fearless use of distortion?" What the +_#$)*(#%*&# are you talking about. As I believe I have stated before - what pathetic art school bullshit. How about posting some photos for a change instead of making all these nonsensical comments about the work of others. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Afterswift@aol.com Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2003 3:36 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] weekly picture In a message dated 9/9/03 12:19:28 PM Pacific Daylight Time, imagist@concentric.net writes: > Not trying to speak for Phong - For me it seems innane to verbally > describe a > photograph back to a list where folks have already seen the original, 'visual, > ' non-verbal work. That technique and insight were far more important than the technical details. As a reviewer I believe it's my job to emphasize the critical elements that made the photo successful. Sorry you disagree with me, but that is how I improve my own work; by recognizing the key elements in the composition and photographer's use of the medium.
