"I spent a year in India traveling to some pretty remote locations on a
Fulbright Fellowship. Several suggestions come to mind. First, use only 36
exposure
rolls. Use only one type of film. I used an ISO 200 negative color film.
Second, buy film locally. Packing 300 rolls of film will take a small
suitcase.
Unless you are in the Amazon jungles C-41 color film is ubiquitous and is
available in the smallest hamlets. "

I agree. I spent six weeks riding trains in India and found Kodak G100
universally available. I also used a lot of Indian B&W, some made by ORWO,
and some of unknown origin. They were both ISO 100 films and yielded
excellent results. I brought my own Provia 100 bulk loads for slides.

On a 'round the world ticket trip some of my film was x-rayed at carry-on
machines up to twenty times. I compared it with new film and could detect
no difference.
