This is probably the largest expanse of virgin tallgrass prairie left in North America. As a note, there are far larger tracts of short grass land in Texas and in Wyoming. This land still is very much as it always was; the major difference is that cows eat a slightly different mix of plants than buffalo or antelope so the mix of grasses is a little different. Anyway, this group of negatives has been very resistant to giving up the image that I saw. It has taken me two weeks to come up with this image which is still a work in progress.
