Subject: Re: [Leica] What a prosumer camera is

Eric,
I'm not trying to support the G5 as a prosumer camera.
Perhaps I should change the thread subject. All I was
trying to say is that as an M user, I found some
similarities to the handling and size of the G5
relative to the M. The original statement, by you, was
that shutter lag was an issue. I am disagree with that
for the way I often shoot.
With my Ms I have two choices; focus and shoot or zone
focus. Which I use depends on optics I'm using and
situation I find myself in. Additionally, the M is
compact.
All I was saying about the G5 is that the focusing is
fast (in MY opinion, close to as fast as I can focus
an M in some situations) and once focused (by pressing
the shutter halfway down) I can wait for the moment
and there is very little delay once I full depress the
shutter (focus and shoot, just like the M!). Or I can
zone focus if I want (just like the M).
So I can see where you think this might be a pain in
the butt, but it's excactly what I do with an M which
I don't consider to be a pain in the butt, but lots of
fun!
