I avoid SF but have been through BWI, Reagan, Dulles, Boston, Minneapolis,
Phoenix and Sacramento. I have NEVER been given a bad time about hand checking
film. It just hasn't happened - and I always carry Neopan 1600 in my bag. The
trip through DC I had a dozen rolls - no problem.

I guess hiring those substandard guys by TCI in SF has resulted in poor service.
