Sonny,

A few corrections. The Digilux (LC-5) hit the market before the 5050. I did a
lot of reading about it on the Net, including detailed critical articles. I
postponed buying it because of the critical points mentioned in the articles.
When the 5050 arrived, I went through the same painstaking process. The 5050
won out in my mind because of its flexibility and larger capacity sensor. It is
a nifty camera because of its design and optical viewfinder and universality.
Sure, focusing the Digilux is somewhat easier in Manual; but it's still
electronic. And I liked the hooded LCD. Methinks the Digilux II will be more like
the 5050. But we're talking about details, not the nature of compact prosumers
- -- which is fundamentally the same at this point in time.

As for Karen's reservations about talking Olympus or Nikon or Canon on a
Leica list, that's a healthy discussion because our dialog will inform Leica Solms
about changes to their cameras that can improve their performance. I see
nothing unethical or contradictory there.
