We work with source material that is either shot on film, HD and recently with something called a "Viper" which is REALLY close to the real thing (film). Output is either back to film or digital.

The point is that Lucas announched the death of film and claimed he could get the same quality shooting HD as shooting film. HD is very, very good, but it's just not film, so it ends up looking like an inferior technology. It's not, it's just different.

I think native HD looks better, than HD transfered to film. Digital projection has made some big strides (DLP technology), but it's not quite there. One more generation and I think we will have it

Exactly!

Don't get me wrong. HD looks really good when it it is shot well. Poorly shot film looks hideous.
