Sorry, Ken. But I *do* have my manual in front of me. On page 8, under
"Automatic Battery Control", it states:
- - Complete battery symbol lights up:
Batteries are fine.
- - Half battery symbol lights up, other displays light up:
Keep spares on hand!
- - Half battery symbol lights up, all other displays off: Batteries
are dead, release is not possible.
Nowhere can I find anything about mechanically governed speeds.
Perhaps you're confusing the R8/R9 with the M7, which does have two
mechanically governed speeds.
