I've e-mailed DAG about this who has confirmed the news. At this point it's uncertain how this will all work out; he thinks Leica's action is illegal and he is getting legal advice on the matter. At this time Don has thousands of Leica repair parts on hand so at least in the short term his business isn't hurting.
