Ted

I really do feel compelled to respond to your message, particularly as you
seem to be signifying some displeasure at the ramblings about watches on
this 'Leica photography' forum. I seem to remember that you are quite fond
of rambling about single malts (at one time on a thread that had this one
beaten for the number of messages posted), but I guess as an older and
respected member of this forum with more photographic credentials than many
of us can ever hope to achieve, it is OK for you to do that but not for
others.

In my view, which I am happy for you to disagree with, this forum is about
more than photography and more than Leicas. It is about knowing people, and
forming relationships and understanding with them, without ever actually
meeting most of them. I find it very in interesting that many Leica owners
share my passion for fine watches, as I am sure you do with those that share
your passion for single malts.

If we are 'gabbing' then do as you have suggested to others in the past, hit
the 'delete' key. But for me, I like to hear about other things, other
interests, and learn more about those people I have only met in a virtual
sense.

Of course, we could have more threads such as ' I have these four M lenses,
which do you all think I should get next'. Now that does get tedious very
quickly, and I do know where my delete key is.

Ted, sorry you are bored with the thread on watches. If you need any
guidance, please email me and I will tell you where your delete key is.
