I had to look this up because BD didn't bother to provide any context
for when/where this attrocity was committed.

I googled it and found this site which documents the assertions pretty
well. I say "assertions" because I haven't done any more research and
they don't call it the "web of a million lies" for nothing.

Certainly the Indians (clumping all the cultures together) came off
poorly in their cultural conflict. I'm not aware of a situation where it
was "done right."

And now they are winning after all, in a certain Darwinian way, as
casinos spread everywhere and in much the same way that western culture
spread. Maybe we can substitute gambling addition for other diseases...

I'm sure there's a Leica moment in this somewhere...
