That is correct. >If you were, I'm sure you'd find that word offensive. I am not sure. It is new to me that words per se are gender specific offensive. Anyhow, that reminds me of the woman we had (for 15 years!) to look after the children. When she was new in the job, she was at a loss how to describe that part of my newly born son's body which you would not like me to mention, so she used some very strange, upper class sounding word for it. When my wife heard this she asked her to use the proper medical term or any applicable common language word she liked. But would she please not use funny words trying to imply some sort of high moral stance. That would be hypocricy (spelling?) So it seems different people find different words offensive. But not gender specific. Reminds me of a few other stories as well, but I'll leave them out for the benefit of those who have no delete button. >And yes, it was the * word that made it so. > >I'm all for learning new words...but offensive, trashy words and >definitions can be learned via private email. Are there words that are, in your opinion, unoffensive and not trashy alternatives to the *word? Best regards, Chris who finds much of what is going on in the world offensive, but words on their own not. >Lea >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Christer Almqvist" <chris@almqvist.net> >To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> >Sent: Saturday, July 12, 2003 4:47 AM >Subject: Re: [Leica] Weird One Found on Leica Photo Net > > >> English not being my mother tongue, I found these explanations to be >> very interesting, and I appreciated reading them as they are >> difficult to find in general dictionaries. >> >> But offensive, no. >> >> Off topic?
