Ask anyone who is using a Noctilux, 90mm Summicron-R, 280mm f/4.8 Telyt, 180mm f/3.4 APO-Telyt or any of the several other lenses made for M and R cameras. There will be differences in *generations* of Leica lenses, some of which will be made in Germany, some in Canada and for the R bodies, Japan and France too ... they all must meet Leica's optical and mechanical standards regardless of country of origin.
